We all love to indulge in a bowl full of fruits, not just because of the delicious taste but they are loaded with plenty of health benefits. For those of you, who don’t eat fruits; make it a habit to incorporate them in your daily diet. It is a widely grown hybrid species of the grnus Fragaria collectively known as the strawberries. It is consumed in large quantities, either fresh or in such prepared foods as juice, pies, jam, jelly, chocolates, milkshakes and ice-creams.

Benefits of Strawberries
Strawberry cultivars vary widely in size, colour, flavour, shape, degree of fertility, season of ripening, liability to disease and constitution of plant. Strawberries are often grouped according to their flowering habit. One plant throughout a season may produce 50 to 60 times or roughly once every three days. Strawberries occur in three basic flowering habits: short-day, long-day, and day-neutral.

Strawberries may also be propagated by seed, though this is primarily a hobby activity, and is not widely practised commercially. One serving 100 g of strawberries contains approximately 33 kilocalories, is an excellent source of vitamin C, a good source of manganese, and provides several other vitamins and dietary minerals in lesser amounts. Strawberries contain a modest amount of essential unsaturated fatty acids in the achene oil.

Reduce the Risk of Heart Disease : - These days heart disease is the most common cause of death worldwide. Large observational studies in thousands of people link berry consumption to a lower risk of heart-related deaths.

Develops brain functions : - This is ideal for the old age person. They are prone to losing their memory and control over the motions and limbs. It happens due to poor brain functions. There are free radicals that are responsible for the degeneration of brain tissues. Strawberries can help counter that the fruit also contains iodine that can help increase the flow of blood to the brain. The potassium in it can also help with concentration and memory.
Reduces cancer growth : - This fruit is rich in Vitamin C, quercetin, anthocyanins, folate, and kaempferol. These are excellent anticarcinogenic and antioxidant properties that can help prevent tumour growth. Eating strawberries daily will help reduce the metastasis of harmful cancer cells.

Blood sugar regulation : - Imbalances in blood sugar regulation and high-sugar diets are associated with an increased risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. Strawberries seem to slow down glucose digestion and reduce spikes in both glucose and insulin following a carb-rich meal, compared to a carb-rich meal without strawberries. Thus, strawberries may be particularly useful for preventing metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes.

Glow Skin and reduce blackheads : - Strawberry juice rich in salicylic and ellagic acid, which remove dead skin cells and reduces the appearance of dark spots on skin.
